Montebello, CA – April 15, 2026 – The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) issued a new license today to Roam & Brew Coffee, a new business venture located at 410 W Whittier Blvd in Montebello. The license, effective April 15, 2026, allows the establishment to serve beer and wine to patrons at their eating place.
The license marks a significant development for the burgeoning Montebello business district, a neighborhood currently home to approximately 3,749 residents and centered around the 5301.01 Census Tract. The area, known as Montebello, is seeing a steady influx of new businesses, and the addition of Roam & Brew Coffee adds to the growing vibrancy.
The license was issued by the ABC following a review of the application submitted by Roam & Brew Coffee, LLC. The company is owned by Ernest Penas, managing member, and Marilu Penas, also a managing member. Marilu Penas and Ernest Penas are also listed as stockholders.

The license is valid for 12 months, and the ABC advises that it may take up to six weeks to update the expiration date after submitting the renewal fee.
